PhD student working on elastomers

Abdulraheem is from Yanbu in Saudi Arabia where he is a lecturer at the Yanbu Industrial College. It was thought that Abdulraheem would benefit from getting a UK PhD and so they wisely allowed him to go to Newcastle University to work with me. At the end of 2021, after some online discussion, I met Abdulraheem at the Intercontinental Hotel in Jeddah where we discussed his research interests, and we agreed that it would be nice to continue the work that Alessandra had started on siloxane-based elastomers. He is making his own elastomers and comparing them with commercial formulations. He is also looking at how they fracture. Abdulraheem's PhD work is co-supervised by Dr Yuan Xu.
